No Apologies

No Apologies

Things I Stopped Apologizing For (And You Can Too)

Because “Sorry” was never your brand anyway.

I used to say sorry for the way I laughed.
For needing space. For taking up space.
For wearing things that were “too much” or speaking too loud or feeling too strongly.

But somewhere around the second act of life, I got tired of shrinking.
I didn’t want to be agreeable. I wanted to be honest.

And guess what?
The sky didn’t fall.
But the weight sure did.

✦ I Stopped Apologizing For:

1. Dressing for myself.

Yes, I wore the robe to brunch. Yes, the kaftan has sequins.
No, I’m not overdressed—you’re just underdaring.

2. Being high-maintenance about what touches my skin.

If the fabric itches, the friendship drains me, or the energy feels off—I’m out.
I don’t do discomfort as a lifestyle anymore.

3. Taking up room.

Whether it’s with my voice, my hips, or my presence—
I’m not folding in to make others comfortable.
I’m unfolding.

4. Not explaining myself.

You don’t owe anyone a TED Talk on your boundaries.
“No” is a full sentence.
So is: “Because I felt like it.”

5. Wanting pleasure.

In my life, in my clothes, in my skincare, in my relationships.
Wanting more isn’t greedy—it’s self-respecting.

✦ Here’s What Happened

When I stopped apologizing, I started magnetizing.
Better conversations.
Deeper friendships.
Clothes that felt like power instead of permission.

Because unapologetic isn’t rude.
It’s radiant.

So if you’ve been shrinking, softening, apologizing for being a little too much—here’s your sign:
Take it back. All of it.

You were never meant to be less.
